The project involves acquisition of 16.53 acres of land for airport expansion, plus 13.18 acres of easements for clear zones; construction of new N/S runway 60' x 3,000', including MIRL and VASI; construction of stub taxiway and apron; installing rotating beacon; installing windcone and segmented circle; installing protective fencing. There is the possibility of some increase in air pollution in the immediate vicinity of the airport due to anticipated increase in the number of operations by light piston-powered aircraft. Turbine powered aircraft will probably not be using this runway due to its short length. (Author)
