In support of the Space Based Radar (SBR) surveillance system technologies, a satellite simulation model has been developed. This simulation models the orbital dynamics of multiple radar satellites, simulates the radar beam, in order to study the surveillance coverage capabilities of the satellites and finally, simulates the detection of airborne targets. The report describes the theoretical background that is used to model the earth's geopotential in the simulation's satellite prediction module and provides an overview of the application of these theories to a computer algorithm. These theories are those presented by Kozai in 1959.
