The results of Intelsat research and development projects in the area of spacecraft structural analysis, design and testing are summarized. These research projects show advances in the determination of the accuracy of predicted dynamic launch loads by coupled analysis, simpler methods to update launch loads, composite material analysis, prediction of acoustic response, improvements of design verification tests, and development of deployable offset reflectors. Further development work is required in some of these areas.
