The project is a facility for the handling, sorting, transporting, and distributing of bulk (non-preferential) mail. It consists of a 345,000 square foot Processing Building plus several supporting buildings and structures constructed on a 76 acre tract of land. Approximately 43 acres will be covered by building construction or paving increasing the amount of storm water runoff from the site. Regrading of site will improve the appearance of about 28 acres previously left scarred by gravel pit operations. About 30 acres of woodland will be removed for construction. Traffic volume on adjoining streets will be increased by about 500 trucks and about 1,700 cars per day. The noise level in the area will be increased as a result of the truck and car traffic.
