Utilizing the concept of 'Human ware', the prospects for passenger car technolgies is presented in the report from the perspectives of humanity, society and ecology. The most important technical issue in the decade leading to the 21st century is the protection of earth's environment. The development of technologies to contribute to this protection is the grave responsibility of automotive manufacturers. Advances in sophisticated electronics, computer and communication technologies will lead to the development of intelligent vehicles and road traffic information systems. Study of human technology covering human physiology and psychology is essential for effective transmission of information to drivers without imposing excessive stress.
