A simulation program was conducted to examine specific airworthiness criteria proposed by the STOL Standards Development Working Group. The simulation included an airplane model which was deliberately designed to just meet as many of the proposed criteria as possible. The specific areas of investigation were longitudinal flight path/flight reference control, limiting flight conditions and safety margins, and propulsion system failure. Simulation results largely confirmed the approaches taken by the Working Group and aided in providing additional numerical definition of criteria. (AUthor)
