Analytical expressions are derived for the forces and torques acting on a spin stabilized cylindrical satellite due to direct solar radiation. These expressions are then used to determine the effects of direct solar radiation on the attitude and orbit of the SKYNET spacecraft, and a comparison is made with the observed behaviour of the spacecraft.
