This battalion was committed daily to tasks varying from combat support missions to reinforced battalion size combat assault operations. Battalion daily requirements of aircraft have been 10 UH-1D lift helicopters, one command and control helicopter, one maintenance helicopter, and four armed helicopters from each assault company and one UH-1D and 12 UH-1C/AH-1G armed helicopters from the 334th Armed Helicopter Company. During this reporting period the 145th Combat Aviation Battalion has been involved in general support of 3 ARVN Corps and FWMAF operating in the 3 Corps Tactical Zone. Missions have been limited primarily to company sized elements, however six battalion size combat assaults were performed during this reporting period. The most significant activity during this reporting period occurred between 31 January - 3 February 1968, when Viet Cong and NVA forces launched their greatest attempt to disrupt and secure various installations in the Bien Hoa/Long Binh and Saigon areas. The battalion provided helicopters for lift and gunship support for US and ARVN ground forces continually throughout the attack.
