A survey of governmental agencies (Federal, state and local) was undertaken to determine to what extent subsidized housing exists or is planned in the Delaware Valley Region. A total of 58,525 subsidized units were identified as of December 31, 1972, of which 37, 365 were existing, 7,062 were under construction, and 14,098 were planned. Information is provided on the number of units by program, by county and minor civil division, and by status. Subsidy programs covered include state programs operated by New Jersey and Pennslyvania. A brief description of these programs and their legislative background (1934-1970) is also provided.
