Results are given of an investigation of an accident which involved a 1969 Pontiac four-door hardtop (vehicle 1) which crossed the roadway center line into the path of a 1964 Ford Mustang (vehicle 2). Defective brakes (vehicle 1) were responsible for the initiation of this crash. The speed of impact for vehicle 1 was 10-20 miles per hour and for vehicle 2, 15-25 miles per hour. The collision severity for vehicle 1 was minor with estimated cost of damages of $1,800. Vehicle 2 was rated minor with the cost of damages estimated at $1,500. (Author)
