Kirkwood Highway extends in a northeasterly direction from the east city limits of Newark to the City of Wilmington in New Castle County. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flows at the B and O Railroad crossing and at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Kirkwood Highway. Right-of-way will be required from several business establishments. The loss of land will be minor and will have no adverse affects on their operations other than a slight loss of parking area.
