This manual was prepared under the auspices of the Joint Army-Navy-NASA-Air Force (JANNAF) Interagency Propulsion Committee through the Safety and Environmental Protection Subcommittee. It is intended solely as a source of information and as a set of basic guidelines for the processing, handling, storage and transportation of chemical rocket and gun propellants and propellant ingredients. The manual consists of three volumes: Volume I-Safety Health and The Environment; Volume II-Solid Propellants and Ingredients; Volume III-Liquid Propellants. Volume III contains specific information on liquid propellants and their ingredients. Topics covered include properties, hazards, safety and protective measures, emergency procedures, compatibility, storage, cleaning, transfer operations, transportation and disposal.
