A wind-tunnel investigation was performed to determine the effect of a number of external stores on the drag and longitudinal stability of a 0.10-scale model of the Douglas A4D airplane. Longitudinal aerodynamic characteristics for the basic A4D-2 and A4D-5 airplane configurations and the effect of various combinations of external stores on these characteristics were determined. The mass-flow ratio, internal drag, and chamber pressure drag for the internally ducted A4D-2 configuration were also determined. These tests were conducted over a Mach number range of 0.50 to 1.00, and an angle-of-attack range of -4 to 12 degrees at a sideslip angle of zero. The results of these tests are presented without analysis.
