Correlations between background variables (e.g., flight experience and age, and moods and ambition before flight) and incidents during flight missions were assessed during 180 helicopter missions. Results show that one group of pilots with relatively short and one group with very long flight experience were affected by significantly more incidents than the group with medium flight experience. Relaxation shows a positive and activity a negative correlation with incidents. No correlation between age and incidents is found.
