The special study represents a major revision of a similar work produced by the author in late 1989. Like its predecessor, it traces the history of aircraft, missile, and aircraft engine maintenance and management at Tinker Air Force Base (Tinker Field until 1948) from August 1942 through September 1992. It corrects some errors contained in the authors earlier effort and contains updated workload information. The edition also more fully recognizes the importance of weapon system management responsibility through including descriptions of those aircraft, engines, and missiles for which the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center (OC-ALC) and its predecessor, the Oklahoma City Air Materiel Area (OCAMA) had such responsibility, but which were maintained elsewhere.
