Ten alternate plans are presented, each accompanied by evaluation criteria for a 29-town airport system for the Capitol Region of Hartford, Connecticut. It is recommended that the present runway configuration at Bradley International Airport can handle all projected commercial operations plus related general aviation activity provided that a publicly-owned system of six satellite airfields is developed to accommodate the bulk of new general aviation growth in the Region. Results are presented of an airspace analysis involving various suggested principal runway alignments at the Region's major airport (Bradley International). An outline is given of suggested continuous planning policies in order to highlight potential problem areas with sufficient lead time so as to be able to anticipate, in a timely manner, the need for remedial action. An implementation schedule is presented for actions suggested in the consultant recommended plan. (Author)
