This is Volume I of a four-volume bibliography on Amphibious Operations. It contains 94 unclassified and unlimited citations of documents acquired by the Defense Documentation Center from 1944 through July 1968. The entries are arranged in ascending order by accession (AD) numbers under the following six headings: Military Tactics and Strategy; Logistics; Personnel Training; Air Support including amphibian planes and other aircraft and ground effect machines; Landing Craft; and Amphibious Vehicles including amphibious assault ships, cargo vehicles, tanks (combat vehicles), and tracked and other vehicles; and Landing Craft. The other volumes in this series are: Volume II, AD-850 950-Unclassified and Limited; Volume III, AD-501 200-Confidential; Volume IV, AD-501 201-Secret. Volume II includes the unclassified and unlimited references contained in Volume I, and Volume IV includes the confidential references contained in Volume III. To facilitate searching for specific entries all volumes carry four computer-generated indexes. These are Corporate Author/Monitoring Agency, Subject (descriptor), Personal Author, and AD-Number Index. (Author)
