In 1978 EEA developed for the Department of Energy (DOE) an accounting model to forecast passenger car and light truck fuel consumption through 1995. The model examines federal conservation policies relating to fuel demand and provides data on car and light truck fuel consumption. The model was expanded to include medium and heavy-duty trucks. This report describes the addition of a class IIB light truck (8501 to 10,000 lb GVW) component to the model. The report documents data sources and assumptions used to create inputs for the class IIB light truck component. Input data are described and a Base Case projection of fuel demand for class IIB and other light-duty vehicles is presented. Appendix A contains the input data. Appendix B is a computer printout of highway fuel demand for selected years. (ERA citation 09:035715)
