The National Space Development Agency (Japan) started space materials tests by using the two-stage rocket TT III 500 A. As the next step, full scale space tests that make use of the Spacelab are scheduled to take place in early 1988. The next rounds of tests that follow will take place on the space station. These projects are briefly outlined.
