Improvements in airplane configuration from the Phase I model 733-197 to the Phase II-A model 733-290 have not changed the original concepts and approaches to ground operations. However, because of the increased size of the model 733-290, the ground operation requirements were re-evaluated. The re-evaluation results are: (1) ground support equipment requirements are essentially the same as outlined for the Phase I proposal; additional equipment includes a maintenance run-up sound suppressor, accessory drive removal and installation equipment, an articulated nose sling, and fuel tank thermal insulation repair equipment; (2) the model 733-290 configuration is compatible with the fifteen airports designated by the FAA with minor modifications to fixed facilities required in some cases; (3) servicing times are 30 minutes at enroute stations and 55 minutes at origin and turn-around stations; servicing actions and servicing equipment are the same as discussed in the Phase I proposal. The following elements of ground operation, as proposed in Phase I, are still applicable: provisioning; functional analysis system; Airport mobile facilities; and maintenance. (Author)
