This short report provides a brief history of space flight, serves as a valuable resource for neurovestibular and sensorimotor space flight experiments conducted by all countries through 2005, and finally, it provides a comprehensive set of space flight physiology references with an emphasis on sensorimotor documents. Therefore, the intent and purpose of this historical overview of neuroscience and space flight is two-fold: First to equip researchers with a single, common reference document, and second, to allow those who helped create this history, a record of accomplishment.
