The Power-Augmented-Ram Landing Craft (PARLC) concept, combining surface effect ship and power-augmented-ram technology into one vehicle, was formulated in early FY-79. This report summarizes the analytical studies and model tests of the PARLC to date. These investigations show the PARLC is capable of transiting a 100-nm distance from ship to shore at speeds in excess of 90 knots while carrying a 240,000-lb payload. (Author)
