The Port Economic Kit provides an effective methodology (automated or manual) to determine port economic impacts for small- and medium-size ports. The Kit quantifies the importance of a port in terms of purchases, income, employment, and taxes generated. This is accomplished by examining the impacts of the local port industry, the local port user industries, and port capital spending. For each type of port activity identified above, the economic effects or impacts can be separated into the direct, indirect, and induced categories.
