Chile's fishing industry employs 98,842 workers. The industrial fleet is classified in purse-seiner, trawler, long-liner and trapper vessels. Currently the Chilean fishing fleet has a total of 952 vessels. The report focuses on the production and import of fishing vessels and their related equipment. It does not include such related equipment as hydraulic pumps, air compressors, winches, power generation equipment, etc., because it is not possible to clearly identify the end-user of this equipment.
