The environmental impact statement concerns proposed development at the Sidney Municipal Airport, Sidney, New York. The proposed project consists of the following items of development: Land acquisition for airfield development, clear zones, and hazard beacons; Construct and mark NE/SW runway; Construct and mark taxiway; Construct apron; Construct access road and parking area; Perimeter fencing; Install medium intensity runway and taxiway lighting including 8 foot wind cone, segmented circle, rotating beacon, runway end identifier light system, abbreviated visual approach slope indicator system and hazard beacons; Obstruction removal. The site is well suited for airport development. This development will stimulate airport usage and contribute to area growth. The development involves the displacement and relocation of persons residing on land needed for such development. The development will improve the appearance and safety of the airport. There will be no change in the relationship between short and long term uses of the environment resulting from this development. Evaluation of the proposed development has found little, if any, impact on the various environmental considerations. (Author)
