It was reported that the Salyut-7 station linked-up with the Cosmos-1686 craft will make an uncontrolled reentry into dense layers of the atmosphere in February 1992, and a massive 3-ton capsule will fall to Earth. The history of the Salyut-7 mission is described. The reasons of the mission faults are discussed.
