This study investigated the existing navigation system in the Patchogue River, Westbrook, Conn. to determine the feasibility of providing navigation improvements for recreational boaters and commercial fishing vessels. Plans involves the widening of the existing navigation channel from 75 to 125 feet from deep water in Long Island Sound to the confluence of the Patchoque and Menunketesuch Rivers, a distance of approximately 1,800 feet. Depth would be maintained at the existing depth of 8 feet MLW. The benefit-cost ratio (BCR) is 7.2 to 1. (Author)
