This report summarizes a program of work resulting from a Cooperative Agreement between the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Vehicle Infrastructure Integration Consortium (VIIC) to develop and test a Proof of Concept (POC) Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) system, based on Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC), a wireless communication between an infrastructure and mobile terminals. It supports applications for improvement in safety, mobility and enables other commercial applications. Key findings and recommendations for further work are presented.
