This report documents the September 30, 2005, version of the Large Truck Crash Causation Study (LTCCS) data set. The U.S. Department of Transportations (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conducted a multiyear, nationwide study of factors that contribute to truck crashes. The goal of the LTCCS is to identify countermeasures to reduce the number and severity of truck crashes. This report summarizes all the information in each of the 43 data files that comprise the LTCCS data set.
