The safety device is for a rocket-propelled missile launched from an aircraft for preventing arming of the warhead unless the missile is both under propulsion and in flight. The safety and arming mechanism is designed to be released by the pressure of the gases produced by the combination of the rocket propellant. The pressure developed by the rocket motor does not contact the arming mechanism unless directed to it by dynamic pressure caused by the forward, in-flight movement of the missile.
