Separated flows in helicopters with dead water formation on the fuselage tail were examined. A model was developed which is based on a combination of panel and interface calculation method, which is simulated in the dead water area by a similar circulation coated track alignment body. The point of gravity lies more on the fuselage, which is especially significant for helicopter, because of its effect on tail rotor and tail plane. Results from wind tunnel tests and flight tests are presented.
