This update to the 1968 Puget Sound area pleasure boating study projects a near 70% increase in boat ownership in the Puget Sound region between 1980 and 2000. The demand for moorage of all kinds exceeds the capacity of existing facilities. To meet the needs of recreational boating, both public and private investments will be required. The study identifies 142 potential marina sites of which 139 received reconnaissance level design and environmental analysis. (Author)
