The objectives of the Airplane Responsive Engine Selection (ARES) program were to develop and apply improved analytical techniques for airplane and engine design selection and integration. These objectives were attained in large part by the development of the ARES data management system, the use of which is described in this document. The ARES system allows the efficient management of multi-dimensional parametric analyses with sufficient accuracy for conceptual and preliminary design activities. When used properly, along the guidelines described, it will prove to be a powerful analytical tool.
