The project is advanced by administrative action of Clackamas County in cooperation with the Oregon State Highway Division and the Federal Highway Administration. The purposes of the project are to provide a more direct connection between Lake Oswego and Interstate 5, to provide for efficient land usage and property development, to reduce traffic on Bonita Road and other local streets, and to accommodate future traffic volumes. The project is to extend 1.1 miles, with termini at the South Tigard Interchange on Interstate 5 and at Boones Ferry Road. The Federal-Aid Secondary project provides for four twelve-foot travel lanes, a sixteen-foot median, two-foot shy distance from curbs, and signalization at major intersections. A summary of environmental impacts is included.
