The existing highway is a two-lane facility within the city of Grapeland. The proposed improvement to provide a safe and efficient highway for through traffic and relieve local congestion would be a four-lane divided highway for the entire limits of the project. It will be necessary to drain two small lakes of approximately 1.2 acres and 1.6 acres. A small stock pond will be partiallly filled in. In addition to ten residences, one church and three businesses to be relocated 6 yards will be damaged. There will be an increase in noise.
