The report describes a two-dimensional computer program-package (LAUNCH II) that simulates the launching of an offshore jacket from a barge. During the launching process the equilibrium positions of barge and jacket are determined and the resulting forces calculated on basis of quasi-static considerations at travel-intervals of chosen magnitude. Further the program will provide: the situation at which the jacket just touches the watersurface and starts to experience buoyancy forces, the moment at which the jacket tilts on the tiltingbeams, the maximum draught of the jacket during the launching, the maximum force on the tiltingbeam axis and the maximum pitch angle of the tiltingbeams during the launching process.
