The purpose of Army Contract DA-44-009-ENG-4759 is to provide the design, fabrication, assembly, test, and preparation for launch of three Geodetic Spacecraft. The scope of the contract was increased to provide procurement of one additional Spacecraft during this reporting period. This report is an addendum to FTR/68-1 and covers the period from 30 October 1961 to 1 June 1963. The status of effort on 30 October 1961 is shown, and a summary of problems identified to that date is presented. This report includes activities prior to and during launch of Spacecraft No. 3 on 23 January 1962. It outlines the problems encountered during launch and explains the action taken toward their solution. Development of modifications authorized by contract amendments eight and nine and modifications outline in Special Test Report Number Six are covered in detail. (Author)
