The project extends from Union Street at Thirteenth Street to Main Street at the St. Joseph River Bridge and involves a grade separation with the Penn Central Railroad at the south end of the Central Business District in Mishawaka, Indiana. The improvement is routed along the existing alignment of Union Street from Thirteenth Street to Seventh Street. This improvement is located in St. Joseph County and has a gross length of approximately 0.92 miles. Environmental impacts include: A slight increase in noise level; relocation of 18 families a church, and 4 businesses; and increased traffic safety.
