The TRAP 7 system currently participates as an operational airborne measurements system providing downrange support of test activities at the primary missile test ranges. The current phase of the program follows an extensive development and test program involving the modification of the TRAP 7 KC-135 aircraft; development, installation, and test of the instrumentation complement and ancillary equipment; and the demonstration of its operational capabilities against full-scale reentry targets.
