Computer program CARI calculates the galactic radiation dose equivalent received by an individual on an aircraft flying a great circle route between any two locations in the world. The program takes into account changes in altitude and geographic location from takeoff to touchdown. Also taken into account is the stage of the 11-year solar cycle at the time of the flight. The present version of CARI can process flight data that includes en route altitudes up to 67,000 feet.
