The action proposed is the construction of I-75 so as to relieve traffic congestion on U.S. 41 which is rapidly progressing to a point where it will be intolerable, and more importantly, to save human lives by providing a safer highway for the motorists. The area through which I-75 will pass is already undergoing land use changes. I-75 will spur these on. Lake Allatoona is a prime recreation area. For this reason the Highway Department engaged the National Recreation and Park Association to make a study of the recreational impact.
