The study program is divided into the elements of: Speed Spread, Atmospheric Temperature Variation, Instrument Variation, and Simulator Plan. The appropriateness of speed criteria depends upon the characteristics of the particular airplane. The B-2707 speed and temperature warnings, during supersonic flight, were set at VMO + 3 knots, MMO + .03 and TMO + 5 F. The present conclusions of this study are that the operational warning limits may be changed. The effects on the airplane materials are believed to be negligible due to the short times that higher speeds are encountered. All data in this document are for the B2707 with GE4-JP5 engines.
