The 'USCG Deepwater Mission Effectiveness Sensitivity Analysis Results' report describes a method of using the SIM II measures of effectiveness, combined with the LE division program standards, to estimate the effectiveness of Coast Guard resources in accomplishing LE mission against a given target set versus the time the resources are in use. A direct spin-off of this method can be used to estimate Coast Guard's Deepwater mission demand. A range of deepwater mission demand to meet between 80 and 90 percent of the LE program standards will be determined. Coast Guard resources do not the capability to meet all of the LE mission demand in all areas all of the time. In some areas, the Coast Guard resources do not have the capability of meeting even 90 percent of the LE program standards.
