An axial-flow pump was designed to be used in an LVTP-7A1 amphibious vehicle; it shows significant advantages over the existing waterjet unit in efficiency, thrust output and system weight. Also, two pumps were designed to provide cavitation-free performance at propulsive coefficients in the region of 40 to 50 percent for a proposed high-speed amphibious vehicle designed to run at a water speed of 20 mph. State-of-the-art composite material technology was used wherever possible to reduce weight. Calculations; graphs and charts.
