The Mk 7 Mod 2 Bomb Trailer was evaluated by the Naval Weapons Evaluation Facility (NWEF), Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87117. The evaluation was conducted to determine the suitability of the Mk 7 Mod 2 Bomb Trailer for the transport of nuclear weapons over various road surfaces at specified speeds and for the loading of nuclear weapons on Navy aircraft. Design and materiel deficiencies were discovered during the evaluation in sufficient quantity and magnitude to disqualify the Mk 7 Mod 2 Bomb Trailer as a transporting/loading vehicle for nuclear weapons.
