Analysis and simulation of a Passive Ranging Interferometer Sensor (PRAIS) used to provide autonomous navigation of spacecraft at average altitudes greater than 5000 nm was conducted. Navigation accuracy of a High Altitude Navigation System (HANS), configured with the PRAIS in conjunction with a digital computer and an Altitude determination system (ADS), was evaluated for five orbits spanning the altitude range of 400 to 150,000 nm. Performance of this HANS configuration was demonstrated with Monte Carlo simulation using order statistics.
