Results are summarized of twenty-one borings made at the location of certain auxilliary facilities in Section D014 of New Carrollton Route of the Washington Metropolitan Area Metro system in the flood plain of Beaver Dam Creek northeast of the District of Columbia. The facilities investigated included an extension of the mezzanine at New Carrollton Station, retaining walls in connection with that station's parking development and a utility culvert crossing beneath Penn Central Railroad trackage. The report contains a series of geological sections through the borings, logs of these borings, results of laboratory tests on soil samples and conclusions regarding anticipated design and construction problems.
