During several flights in 1967 and 1968, measurements of absolute humidity were made by two or three of the following systems installed on the ESSA Research Flight Facility's DC-6 aircraft: (1) An infrared hygrometer (2) A frost point hygrometer (3) Molecular Sieve absorption traps. A brief description of these instruments is presented with emphasis on No. 3, in which a measured volume of air is stripped of its water which is weighed. The agreement between all systems was excellent, with deviations usually within 0.2g1 cw m. (Author)
