Both inflight and laboratory vibration responses of the SHRIKE missile were recorded and analyzed during the series of tests described herein. The primary purpose of flight testing was to determine the internal dynamic response of the SHRIKE Missile to a captive flight environment, and to apply these results toward the establishment of meaningful qualification vibration requirements at the component level. In order to accomplish this, appropriate transducers were affixed to select missile guidance, fuze, and other components, while the missile was carried aboard an A-4F aircraft during a sequence of flight maneuvers. Laboratory vibration testing was accomplished at the subassembly level, utilizing the same guidance section employed during captive flights so that these responses could be compared to data acquired during captive flights.
