The report illustrates the important variables which affect passenger car tire rolling resistance. The influence of speed, load and inflation pressure is discussed, and test data is presented on the influence of these. The test data encompasses a wide variety of modern tires, bias and radial, over a range of rim diameters and tire aspect ratios. Measurements of tire rolling resistance are discussed and equations presented for converting rolling resistance gotten on drums to the equivalent value on the road.
